Louis Patrick Leroux

Louis Patrick Leroux founded Ottawa’s Théâtre la Catapulte in 1992 and was its Artistic and General Manager until 1998. Playwright-in-residence at Sudbury’s Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario in 1993–94, and in 2005–07, he was also artist-in-residence at Concordia University’s Matralab research-creation centre in Montreal in 2008 and resident playwright with Toronto’s Collective Sigh in 2008–09.

Ludwig & Mae established Louis Patrick Leroux as a leading figure of the Franco-Ontarian artistic renewal of the 1990s. Apocalypse, in particular, was quickly identified as a turning point from formerly identity-driven literary tradition to a burgeoning of artistic freedom and formal exploration.
